Best Camera Settings for Night Photography

Capture stunning night photos with your phone using the right camera settings. Learn how to adjust ISO, shutter speed, focus, and use night mode to get bright, clear, and DSLR-like shots even in low light.

1. Use Night Mode

Most smartphones come with a built-in Night Mode.

It captures multiple shots and combines them

Improves brightness and reduces noise

👉 Tip: Hold your phone steady for 2–5 seconds while clicking.

2. Adjust ISO Properly

ISO controls light sensitivity.

Keep ISO between 100–400 for less noise

Increase only if the scene is too dark

👉 Higher ISO = brighter image but more grain.

 3. Use Slow Shutter Speed

Shutter speed controls how long light enters your camera.

Use 1–10 seconds for night shots

Perfect for light trails and city photography

👉 Important: Use a tripod or keep your phone stable.

4. Focus Manually

Auto focus struggles in low light.

Switch to manual focus

Focus on lights or bright objects

👉 This makes your photo sharper and clearer.

 5. Adjust White Balance

White balance controls color tone.

Use cool tones for natural night look

Avoid too yellow/orange lighting

 6. Use Pro Mode

If your phone has Pro/Manual Mode, use it for full control:

ISO: 100–400

Shutter: 1–5 sec

Focus: Manual

WB: Adjust as per lighting
